Pivac provides Halfpenny injury update
Scarlets head coach Wayne Pivac has revealed Leigh Halfpenny is set to visit a specialist about his recent concussion.
The Wales full-back has been stuck on the sidelines for almost two months after he suffered a blow to the head from Australia centre Samu Kerevi in the autumn internationals.
With Halfpenny still unable to play, Pivac has admitted it has been a frustrating time for the British & Irish Lion and now the Scarlets are hoping for positive news from a specialist in concussions.
"He is very frustrated," said Pivac. "You can see a leg injury, these things are easy to deal with, you can see a finish line.
"You didn't know as much about the head injuries that occur. It is frustrating for all concerned, more so for Leigh.
"He is seeing a specialist and that will hopefully give us an accurate timeframe for him in coming back to play. We will know more next week hopefully."
