Russell earns Horne backing
Scotland centre Peter Horne feels fly-half Finn Russell will be back to his best when they face England on February 24.
Russell produced good moments but was wayward with his kicking from hand in the 32-26 victory over the French at Murrayfield on Sunday.
Head coach Gregor Townsend decided to take the Glasgow Warriors star off in the latter stages, with Ali Price coming on at scrum-half and Greig Laidlaw moving to fly-half.
With England next heading to Murrayfield later this month, Horne is fully expecting his Glasgow team-mate to be back on his game for the highly-anticipated Calcutta Cup clash in Edinburgh.
"I have no doubts against England he'll be back to his best," said Horne.
"He's a class act. He'll just brush that [display against France] off."
Horne added: "It wasn't like he wasn't playing well. There were maybe a couple of things that didn't go his way but that's the type of player Finn is.
"He's got so much class he can just brush the mistake. The majority of the time, the next thing he does is something real X-factor, with real quality."
