Saracens announce Daly swoop

6th February 2019, 04:45 by Michael Holland

Saracens have signed Elliot Daly, who will head to Allianz Park from Wasps in time for the 2019/20 season.

Rumours had strongly linked Daly with a move to Saracens after it was confirmed he would leave Wasps, and the deal has now been officially announced.

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall has hailed the capture of the England international and believes the player can now go on to realise his full potential.

“We are looking forward to welcoming Elliot to the club next season," said McCall. “He’s a talented player and at 26, his best years are ahead of him. Everyone at Saracens is excited to see him fulfil his potential with us.”

Meanwhile, Daly has also reiterated his desire to have a fresh start after 12 years with Wasps, and is looking forward to the challenge ahead.

“At 26, I believe it is the right time in my career to explore a fresh challenge and the opportunity to do that with Saracens really excites me," he said.
