Scarlets star backed for Wales recall
Scarlets coach Wayne Pivac has backed full-back Leigh Halfpenny to secure a return to the Wales starting side.
Pivac, who will succeed current Wales coach Warren Gatland later this year, is aware it will be hard for the Welsh to change a team that is on course for a Six Nations Grand Slam but he feels Halfpenny could make a difference.
The Scarlets star spent three months on the sidelines with concussion but has played two full games since his return and will now rejoin the Wales squad preparing to face Scotland next weekend.
"Isn't it great to have players performing at Test level and then a guy like Leigh coming back from injury and playing the way is," Pivac told the BBC.
"It's just great for those selectors but it's a tough one [whether to select Halfpenny] isn't it, I'll leave it to Warren Gatland."
He added: "He's doing everything asked of him at the moment, it's great for Leigh and for the Welsh management."
