Hibs reject improved midfielder bid
Hibernian have rejected a second bid - understood to be in the region of £2million - from Celtic for midfielder John McGinn.
Sky Sports claim the Hoops upped their initial bid from £1.5million but still found the Edinburgh club unwilling to do business.
The Scotland international, 23, joined Hibs from St Mirren in 2015 and has a year left on his contract.
Hibs, who face Runavik in the Europa League first qualifying round at Easter Road on Thursday, have already been shorn of fellow midfielder Dylan McGeouch, who opted to join Sunderland at the end of his deal.
McGinn was a key member of the squad that ended Hibs' 114-year wait to lift the Scottish Cup and made his Scotland debut the same season.
He scored two long-range goals as Hibs earned a draw at Celtic Park in September and was named PFA Scotland's Championship player of the year.
A sell-on clause means that St Mirren would be due about a third of any transfer fee for McGinn.
