Lennon sets target for returning striker
Neil Lennon has challenged striker Leigh Griffiths to get match fit in time for Celtic's Scottish Cup final against Hearts next month.
The Bhoys take on their Premiership rivals at Hampden Park on May 25 and Lennon wants the Scotland international to be involved.
Griffiths took some time away from football at the start of December for personal reasons and it was unclear whether or not he would feature again this season.
The striker has been doing some training sessions with the club and Lennon has now challenged him to step up the intensity ahead of the final.
Lennon told the Evening Times: "What have we got? Six weeks. Yeah. It's realistic for him.
"He'll have to play and train at least two weeks going into that, so he then has a target of four weeks. He's had targets. He's working away in the background and doing his double sessions. He's getting there. It's a slow burner but we understand that as he's been out for such a long period of time.
"It's going to be difficult for him to get into the squad with the way the boys are playing. There are a lot ahead of him and they have earned the right to play in a cup final."
