Midfielder hoping to step up recovery
Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton is ready to step up his recovery as he targets a return to action in 2019.
The Israel international made 14 appearances in the Premiership in 2017-18 before his campaign was curtailed by a knee injury in February.
After watching the first half of 2018-19 from a distance the midfielder has recently returning to training at Celtic’s warm weather camp in Dubai.
Bitton has been itching to get back on the pitch and he is edging closer to making a return as the Bhoys attempt to defend their title.
“Sometimes people don’t understand, sometimes people take the simple things in life for granted,” Bitton told Celtic’s official website.
"It was only after getting this injury that I realised I need to appreciate every single minute on the training pitch, every single minute on the pitch, because in one moment you can lose everything, and you can do nothing about it.
“From here, I’ll put the injury behind me, and my main focus is to get back to full fitness now, have a good time in Dubai with the team, to get back into shape, get some thorough training sessions in.
"After the winter break, I’ll keep pushing, keep training hard, and hopefully I’ll get some game time, and hopefully we’ll win some more trophies this season."
