Gers keen on rivals loan star

9th April 2019, 14:29 by Warren Ashurst

Rangers are understood to be keen to sign goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann, on loan at Kilmarnock, at the end of the season.

Reports in Austria suggest Gers officials have spoken to the player's representatives about a potential switch to Ibrox, after impressing during his stint this season at Rugby Park.

Bachmann, who was sent off at Ibrox in the Scottish Cup earlier this year, is contracted to Premier League side Watford and there are expected to be other clubs keen to acquire his services.

It's believed Steven Gerrard will have a new goalkeeper towards the top of his transfer priorities this summer, with speculation surrounding Wes Foderingham's future.

With first-choice shot-stopper Allan McGregor also entering the final year of his contract, then a long-term keeping option will be something under consideration for the Gers boss.
