Insigne injury blow for Italy

3rd September 2019, 18:14 by Nick Harris

Italy have been hit with a blow on the injury front ahead of the latest round of internationals as Lorenzo Insigne has pulled out of the squad.

The Napoli winger picked up a muscle injury in the Serie A match with Juventus at the weekend and is not available for the Azzurri.

In his place boss Roberto Mancini selected Freiburg’s Vincenzo Grifo, who has featured under the former Manchester City boss before but had priginally been left out of the latest squad.

Italy play away in Armenia on Thursday and Finland on Sunday in Group J of the European Championship qualifying.
