Juve ponder late Barca raid
Juventus could be tempted to make a deadline-day move for Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic.
The Croatian playmaker’s future has been the subject of speculation throughout the summer but he remains at Camp Nou with the transfer deadline fast approaching.
The Catalan giants had hoped to use Rakitic as a makeweight in a deal to land former forward Neymar from Paris-Saint Germain but Rakitic wasn’t keen on a move to the French capital.
A move to Juve may appeal however, particularly as Rakitic has dropped down the pecking order at Barca in these early stages of the season.
The 31-year-old has managed just 45 minutes of La Liga action this season after appearing as a second half substitute in the defeat to Athletic Bilbao in the opening round of fixtures.
Reports claim Juve are planning a late move for Rakitic, and a loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer could be on the cards.
