Alcaraz dreaming of Davis Cup appearance
Carlos Alcaraz has revealed his desire to represent Spain in the Davis Cup and hopes to follow in the footsteps of Rafael Nadal.
The teenager has been impressing on the youth circuit and many believe he has a bright future in store when he steps up to professional level.
Alcaraz has already mastered the clay surface, also the preference of his hero Nadal, and admits he looks up to the 11-time French Open champion.
"I want to be like Rafa. My character is more similar to Roger Federer's although the example to follow is Rafa because my game suits the most to clay than hard. I would like to win the French Open many times as Rafa did," Alcaraz said.
"It's not easy because getting compared with Nadal, every generation ends up losing. He is an idol and you will just have one like him. I keep working hard to be a professional tennis player."
The Spaniard also says he would love to represent his country in the Davis Cup even if he isn't a fan of it.
He added: "I dream it although I do not like the format. You lost what I liked more, playing five sets over several weeks representing my country."
