Azarenka ready to take on Williams
Victoria Azarenka is looking forward to coming up against Serena Williams in the second round at Indian Wells on Friday.
The Belarussian world number 48 overcame compatriot Vera Lapko 6-2 6-3 to secure her place in the second round, while 10th seed Williams received a first-round bye.
Williams leads the head-to-head 17-4 and Azarenka hopes she can reduce the deficit when she comes up against her fellow former world number one in California.
"Of course it's going to be a very special match for us," she said, as reported by Sport 24. "We have such a big history, it's going to be really special. She motivates me, she inspires me, she pushes me to be better."
