Gauff must qualify for next event
Coco Gauff will make her return to tennis after Wimbledon by attempting to qualify for Washington's Citi Open next week.
On Thursday, it was announced that the 15-year-old would be joining a stellar field for the hard court event in the US capital.
Gauff became the youngest player to ever qualify for the Championships at SW19 earlier this month and went on to reach the fourth round after a string of upsets, including one over former Wimbledon champion Venus Williams in her first match on Centre Court.
"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be in front of American fans in our nation's capital at the Citi Open," said Gauff in the press release.
"The last few weeks have been amazing and I'm excited about coming to Washington, D.C. to connect with all the fans, especially the young kids, who have been giving me so much support this summer."
Gauff, however, will need to win two qualifying matches in order to make it into the main draw in Washington, which begins on July 27.
She was not able to automatically join the final bracket after registering with her pre-Wimbledon international ranking of 313.
