Konta prepared for big summer

British number one Johanna Konta has confirmed she will play the WTA Tour events in Nottingham, Birmingham, and Eastbourne.

Konta, who is currently ranked 38th in the world, has enjoyed some of her best tennis in the grass-court season, having reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon in 2017.

She has also reached the final of the Nature Valley Open in Nottingham for the past two years.

However, she fared poorly in Birmingham and Eastbourne last year, being knocked out in the first and second rounds respectively in those tournaments, so is hoping to propel her career back to the heights of being world number four in July 2017.

Konta is looking forward to a busy summer and is confident she can play well, saying grass is her preferred surface.

"I'm really excited to be returning to play these fantastic tournaments this summer,” she said.

"The grass-court season is one of my favourites and nothing compares to competing at home with passionate fans, friends and family, who are behind you all the way."
