Kvitova secures Dubai final spot
World number two Petra Kvitova is through to the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships final after beating Su-Wei Hsieh in three sets.
The Czech star lost the opening set but fought back to secure a 3-6 6-2 6-4 victory in two hours and 10 minutes.
Kvitova, who finished as the runner-up at the Australian Open earlier this year, is delighted to have reached the final, where she will come up against either two-time defending champion Elina Svitolina or Switzerland's Belinda Bencic.
"She is a very tricky player. I didn't play that well in the first set. But I came back strong in the next two sets," Kvitova said after the match.
"I knew I needed to be a bit patient with her. It's not really easy to make those winners against her."
She added: "I honestly didn't expect to be in the final here. So it's great for me. I am very happy. It's a big bonus for me. Now I need to recover well for the final."
