Massu eager to see Federer carry on

5th April 2019, 18:49 by Tom Hill

Former Olympic gold medallist Nicolas Massu says Roger Federer should keep on playing until at least the 2020 Olympic Games.

The Chilean is known for his success at Athens 15 years ago, where he won both the singles and doubles title.

Massu never won a Grand Slam title but won over £4m in prize money and won six titles in total.

On the other hand, Federer has dominated the game since turning professional and Massu wants him to carry on and try to win his first singles titles at the Olympics.

He told reporters: "The first time I saw him was at 15 years, he already marked a difference.

"He is a great person and an unbelievable player. Hopefully, he keeps playing much more because he is the greatest player ever."
