Osaka and Jenkins go separate ways

13th September 2019, 15:11 by Bobbie Jackson

World number four Naomi Osaka has taken to social media to confirm she will no longer be working with coach Jermaine Jenkins.

The Japanese ace brought Jenkins on board in February after ending her working relationship with Sascha Bajin.

Jenkins hasn't been able to improve Osaka's game and the pair have agreed to go their separate ways.

Osaka failed to reach a single final working with Jenkins and has dropped down the rankings to fourth spot.

She tweeted: "Writing this to let you guys know that me and Jay won't be working together anymore.

"I'm super grateful for the time we spent together and the things I learned on and off the court, but I feel like now is an appropriate time for a change.

"Thank you for everything, it was a blast."
