Murphy delighted with Newmarket partner
Jockey Oisin Murphy says he is "delighted" to have been given the ride on Millisle in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket on June 7.
Horse Racing across the UK is set to return on Monday, ending a two-and-a-half-month absence, with a revised and modified schedule drawn up by the British Horse Racing Authority for the rest of the year.
One of the Classics, the 1,000 Guineas, will take place at racing's HQ on Sunday week, having been moved from the original spot of late April/early May because of the coronavirus pandemic.
A strong field will be competing in the prestigious race, which is run over 1m, and Murphy will be hoping to guide the Jessica Harrington-trained Millisle to glory that weekend.
Speaking about his ride in his column on sportinglife, the jockey said: "On the subject of the Guineas, I'm delighted to have got the call to ride Millisle in the 1000 next Sunday for Jessica Harrington.
"She has stamina to prove but went through the line strongly in the Cheveley Park and if Jessica believes she'll stay then we should take confidence from that."
