PSG among Marcelo suitors

5th July 2019, 17:14 by Dan McCarthy

PSG are understood to be one of a number of clubs interested in signing Real Madrid’s Marcelo this summer, according to reports.

The Brazilian left-back has been a mainstay of Los Blancos side since joining from Fluminense in his homeland in 2007.

However, boss Zinedine Zidane is keen to revamp his squad this summer and reduce the average age.

He has already spent £47million to bring in left-back Ferland Mendy from Lyon, with Marcelo's place in the team now under threat.

Now a departure could be on the cards for the 31-year-old, with several clubs, including PSG, registering their interest.

The French side are desperate to win the Champions League and are looking to Marcelo to help provide some experience.

PSG already have Layvin Kurzawa and Juan Bernat as options in the position but one may leave if they manage to sign Marcelo.

His contract does not expire for another three years, so PSG may have to shell out in order to bring him to the club.
