Palace duo set for exits

21st May 2019, 12:12 by Gareth Freeman

Crystal Palace duo Pape Souare and Bakary Sako are set to leave the club next month when their contracts expire.

Souare joined Palace in January 2015 in a £3.45million deal from Lille and quickly established himself as a regular.

The defender spent a year on the sidelines after a car crash in late 2016 and has been unable to force his way back into the side, and it is now understood he will be released when his deal comes to an end.

Souare has been linked with a return to Ligue 1, with Marseille thought to be keen on the 28-year-old.

Mali international Sako joined on a short-term contract in January and managed four Premier League appearances.

The 31-year-old's deal comes to an end this summer and the Eagles are not planning to offer Sako fresh terms.
