Spurs move first for Lyon midfielder

12th June 2019, 18:58 by Gareth Freeman

Tottenham have opened talks with Lyon regarding a summer move for Tanguy Ndombele but a deal remains in the balance.

Spurs have been linked with the midfielder for some time and now reports claim they have entered into talks with the French club.

However, Tottenham are yet to submit a formal offer and it is understood they are not willing to match Lyon's reported £70million valuation - and that could see them miss out on the 22-year-old Frenchman.

Real Madrid are known admirers of Ndombele and appear to be Spurs' main rivals in the hunt for his signature, while Juventus, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have also been credited with an interest.
