Spurs interested in Welsh ace

16th July 2019, 08:57 by Bobbie Jackson

Reports claim Tottenham are preparing a package to tempt Real Madrid outcast Gareth Bale back to north London.

The Wales international left Spurs for Los Blancos in 2013 for a then world-record fee of £89.2million but his time in Spain hasn't gone smoothly.

Bale may have won the Champions League on four occasions but doesn't now appear to fit into the plans of boss Zinedine Zidane.

A return to Tottenham has been heavily reported and Spanish publication Marca is the latest to suggest that a deal could be on the cards.

The report states they are happy to stump up between £45million and £54million to get a deal over the line although it may prove difficult to agree personal terms.

Bale's £600,000-a-week wages are likely to be a stumbling block in negotiations, with Spurs only willing to pay half of that amount.
