Pavon on Watford's radar

23rd May 2019, 20:00 by Tom Hill

According to reports in Argentina, Watford are interested in signing Boca Juniors' forward Cristian Pavon.

Watford boss Javi Gracia is already planning for next season, less than a week after watching his side lose 6-0 in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

Gerard Deulofeu, Troy Deeney and Andre Gray have provided the firepower this year for the Hornets but Gracia is looking to take the club to the next level.

Argentine website Sportia suggests the Hornets are considering a move for 23-year-old Pavon, but Boca are ready to play hardball with the Premier League outfit.

Pavon's current contract includes a $30million release clause but his ability to play as a winger and a striker could tempt Gracia.

He has scored four goals and grabbed three assists in 15 games this season, while he has already earned 11 caps for Argentina.
