Griffin raring to go after short break

27th August 2019, 18:17 by Aidan Perkins

Josh Griffin says Hull FC must put the recent defeat against Salford Red Devils behind them when they host Huddersfield on Friday.

The Black & Whites went down 44-22 at home against Salford last time out but remain well in contention for a place in the Super League play-offs as they sit in fourth place, level on points with both Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves directly above them.

Griffin and the rest of the squad were given some time off after the defeat to Salford on August 17 but are now back in training in preparation for Friday's visit of Huddersfield.

Griffin said: "As a group, we've had that Salford loss festering on our minds for a long time now. But the beauty of sport is that you get a chance to put it right in your next match, and that's exactly what our focus is ahead of Friday's game against Huddersfield."

He added on the club's website: "We were given the week off last week and it was just so refreshing to get away from rugby for a few days and get some sunshine with the family."
