Rhinos boss happy with JJB deal
Leeds Rhinos head coach Richard Agar says he's pleased to have Jamie Jones-Buchanan alongside him as his new assistant coach.
Having called time on playing last season, Jones-Buchanan is now set to turn his hand to coaching for the club he ran out 421 times for during a successful playing career.
With the Super League campaign getting underway at the end of the month, Agar is happy to have Jones-Buchanan's experience at his disposal, as Leeds look to put a disappointing season last term behind them.
"He's a very deep thinker and can put himself as a player into a lot of the situations he's coaching," Agar told BBC Radio Leeds. "When he does something he attacks it with full gusto. He'll need nurturing in some respects but he has a wealth of experience, a tremendous work ethic and the boys love him."
Agar added: "We have Kevin Sinfield as director of rugby, Rob Burrow is on our coaching staff, Jonesy now and we'll have Jamie Peacock doing some stuff with us on an infrequent basis too. To have those guys around and that leadership and experience is brilliant for our players."
Leeds kick-start their Super League season on February 2 when they host rivals Hull FC at Headingley.
