Rhinos secure spot in Super League

2nd September 2019, 10:49 by Nick Harris

Leeds Rhinos all but secured their place in the Super League next season with a comfortable win over London Broncos on Sunday.

Another season of worry appears to have come to an end for Rhinos supporters, and, although they are not mathematically safe yet, it would take a strange points return for them to be in any trouble.

Tries from Luke Briscoe, Ava Seumanufagai and Jack Walker in the first half were backed up by Walker, Ash Handley and Brad Dwyer efforts as Leeds moved four points clear of London with two games to go.

Leeds interim coach Richard Agar said: "It was a tough game and a tough pitch at times. I'm highly delighted that the boys stuck together and stuck through it. "Performance-wise there is a lot to improve on, but commitment and defensive effort was brilliant.

"I know mathematically we're still not safe but it's a fair old swing with two games and two other teams battling each other."
