Warriors battling NRL clubs for teenager

4th September 2019, 12:26 by Bobbie Jackson

Adrian Lam is keen to add Kai Pearce-Paul to his Wigan Warriors squad but will need to battle with NRL clubs for his signature.

The teenager has impressed for London Broncos' academy side this season and his exploits are attracting widespread interest.

Pearce-Paul is yet to make a Super League appearance but that may be on the cards in 2020 if Lam gets his way during the off-season.

Reports claim a host of unnamed NRL clubs have been closely monitoring Pearce-Paul and he is likely to have some big decisions to make over the coming months.

Warriors boss Lam is hoping his tendency to give young prospects a shot could swing the balance in their favour.

Morgan Smithies, Liam Byrne, Amir Bourouh, Ethan Havard and Joe Shorrocks have all been handed debuts by the DW Stadium outfit this season.
