Watson in awe of Red Devils focus
Salford boss Ian Watson praised the focus of his players after seeing them claim a 32-12 victory against Huddersfield on Sunday.
The Red Devils moved back into the play-off places, largely down to a strong second half in which they came from 12-6 down to take the lead thanks to scores from Mark Flanagan, Tui Lolohea and Krisnan Inu.
Inu also kicked four conversions and four penalties to help Salford leapfrog Castleford, who had temporarily taken fifth thanks to Saturday's 20-6 victory against London.
Boss Watson was pleased with the way his side ground out the victory, most notably the concentration they showed in defence.
"It was a real good arm-wrestle and I thought we showed a good mentality, especially in defence," Watson said.
"Defence wins you games and it's no secret it wins you competitions too. We were much better with the ball in the second half.
"The message in the final quarter was to not lose concentration. Huddersfield came here with a good mentality and they had a real purpose. We have to make sure we outlast the opposition in the remaining games this season."
He added: "The group of players we have here is outstanding and the boys have been a credit to the club all year. We need to nail that play-off spot and see what we can do."
