Itoje talks up England's 'common goal'
Maro Itoje says England's "common goal" is to banish the demons of four years ago by winning this year's World Cup.
England were among the favourites to win the 2015 World Cup on home soil, but they were unceremoniously knocked out during the group stage after suffering defeats against Wales and Australia.
Eddie Jones' side will now begin their preparations for this year's tournament in earnest when they take on Wales in a warm-up match at Twickenham on Sunday and Saracens lock Itoje says the entire squad have the same target of achieving World Cup success and righting the wrongs of 2015.
"We are all here, we are all tied by a common goal and that is to succeed at the World Cup," Itoje was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
"Every other ambition falls beneath that. That's our common vision. That's the goal that were buying into.
"Therefore, every action, everything that we do from this point to the World Cup, is to be successful."
England will also play Wales at the Principality Stadium as part of their World Cup preparations, as well as games against Ireland and Italy.
The 2003 world champions will then head to Japan for the tournament itself, with their opening match set to come against Tonga on September 22.
